Genuine LG part 5221ER1003N is a three way water inlet valve for the LG WXL-1014B, WXL-1014E and WXL-1014W washing machines. The valve controls the water coming in from your taps and directs it where it needs to go during the cycle. When yours stops opening or won't shut off, this is the factory replacement for those three models.
LG washing machine not filling, or filling when it's off
The inlet valve is a set of electrically operated solenoids mounted where the hoses connect at the back of the machine. Each one opens on command from the control board and closes again once the machine has enough water. A three way valve feeds more than one outlet, letting the machine route water to different places during the cycle. A failed coil leaves the machine sitting with no water coming in, or filling very slowly. A valve that sticks open keeps letting water in even when the machine is off, which can flood the tub. Blocked inlet screens can mimic a faulty valve, so check those first.

Swapping the inlet valve
Turn both taps off, then unplug the machine at the wall. Disconnect the inlet hoses and expect some water to run out. Take a photo of the wiring plugs and the internal hoses on the old valve so everything goes back in the same order. Once fitted, turn the taps on slowly, check for drips around the valve and run a short cycle to confirm it fills and stops properly.
