This is LG's own 5221ER1002F water inlet valve assembly, a 4 way valve for LG washing machines. The valve sits where the hose connects at the back of the washer and opens on command to let water in through the outlets the program needs. LG uses a number of similar valves, so check that the label on your old valve reads 5221ER1002F, or confirm with your model number, before ordering.
LG washing machine not filling? Check the inlet valve
Solenoid coils on the valve open its water paths when the control board sends them power, feeding water to the detergent drawer and drum. When a coil burns out or a diaphragm inside sticks, the washer can fail to fill, fill painfully slowly, or show a water inlet error, which LG machines usually report as IE. The opposite fault is just as common. A valve that won't close fully lets water trickle in while the machine is off, and can overfill the drum. Before blaming the valve, clean the small filter screen at the hose connection and make sure the tap is fully on.

Replacing the LG inlet valve
Turn off the taps and switch the washer off at the wall. Take a photo of the wiring and the internal hoses before removing anything, since each outlet needs to go back on the correct hose. Fit the hose clamps securely, reconnect the plugs to the matching coils and run a rinse cycle while watching for leaks around the valve.

My LG washer shows IE. Is it the valve?
IE points to a fill problem, and a faulty inlet valve is a common cause. First check the tap is on, the hose isn't kinked and the filter screen in the valve inlet is clean. If water still won't come in, the valve coils can be tested for continuity.
