LG part 5221EN2003R is a genuine water inlet valve assembly for washing machines. It's the electrically operated valve where the supply hose connects, opening on command to let water in for washing and rinsing. LG washer not filling, or filling when it shouldn't?
Inside the inlet valve, solenoid coils lift small diaphragms to let water through to the detergent drawer and drum. When a coil burns out or a diaphragm sticks, the machine may hum without filling, fill so slowly that it throws an IE error, or skip the softener compartment. The opposite fault is a valve that won't shut, letting water creep in while the machine is off and filling the drum or flooding the laundry. Check the filter screens where the hoses screw on, since a blocked screen looks a lot like a dead valve.

Swapping the inlet valve
Unplug the washer and turn off the taps, then unscrew the hoses and let them drain into a bucket. The valve is usually reached by taking off the top panel. Label or photograph each wire and internal hose before removing them. Fit the new valve, reconnect everything exactly as it was, then turn the taps on slowly and run a rinse while you watch for drips.
