LG washing machine not filling? Test the inlet valve
When a wash program calls for water, the control board energises one or more of the solenoid coils on the inlet valve. Each coil opens its own path so water can flow through the dispenser and carry detergent or softener into the drum. A faulty valve can leave the washer slow to fill or not filling at all, often with an IE error, or it can let water trickle in while the machine is switched off. Poor rinsing and softener left sitting in the drawer can also point to one coil that has stopped working.

Swapping the inlet valve
Switch off at the wall, unplug the washer and turn both taps off before you disconnect the fill hoses. On these machines the valve normally sits at the top rear, under the top panel. Take a photo of the hoses and wire positions so each coil goes back on the same terminals, fit the new valve, then run a short program and check every joint for drips.
