LG part 5221EA2001A is the genuine water inlet valve for a group of LG WF-T washing machines, namely the WF-T507 and WF-T556, the WF-T657 with its WF-T6571 and WF-T6572 variants, and the WF-T750. The number 5221EA2001N is also linked to this valve, so either number on your old part points to the same replacement. The valve controls all of the water entering the machine from your taps.
LG washing machine not filling or overfilling
The inlet valve is an electrically operated valve where the hoses connect at the back. When the control board calls for water, the solenoid coil opens the valve and water flows into the tub, and when power is cut the valve snaps shut. A faulty coil leaves the machine sitting empty or showing a fill error. Debris can wedge the valve partly open, so water trickles in even when the machine is off. Slow filling, a buzzing noise at the back and leaks at the hose connections are other common signs.

Fitting the inlet valve
Turn off both taps and unplug the washer. Disconnect the fill hoses at the back and have a bucket ready for leftover water. Take a photo of the wiring and internal hoses on the old valve before removing it. Fit the new valve, reconnect everything in the same positions and check the hose washers, replacing any that are flattened or cracked. Turn the taps on, look for leaks, then run a short wash.
