LG washer dryer not filling or overfilling?
An inlet valve is a set of electrically operated solenoids. When the control board energises one, it opens and lets water through to a particular part of the machine, such as a compartment in the detergent drawer. A five-way valve has more outlets than a basic washer valve because a washer dryer has more places to send water. Faults include no water entering, an IE fill error, one dispenser compartment never emptying, water dribbling in with the power off, or a leak at the valve body. Low water pressure and a blocked inlet screen can cause similar symptoms.

Changing the inlet valve
Turn off the tap and unplug the machine. Disconnect the inlet hose, keeping a towel handy for trapped water. On most LG front loading machines the valve is reached by removing the top panel. Label each outlet hose and wiring plug before removing them, as crossing them will send water to the wrong place. After fitting, open the tap and check for leaks before running a cycle.
