LG washer not taking water
Every litre that enters the machine passes through the inlet valve. This double valve has two solenoids that the control board opens as needed during the fill. If a coil burns out, the machine may not fill, may fill very slowly, or may stop with an inlet error code such as IE. Debris caught in the valve can stop it closing fully, so water trickles in while the machine is off. Before replacing the valve, check the tap is fully open, the hose isn't kinked and the filter screen in the valve inlet is clean, then test each coil.

Replacing the LG inlet valve
Turn the taps off, unplug the washer and disconnect the inlet hoses. The valve is mounted at the back where the hoses connect, and is usually reached by lifting the top panel or removing a rear cover. Label each wire before unplugging it, because each coil must go back on the same terminals. Refit the hoses with new washers if the old ones are flattened, then check for leaks during the first fill.
