Genuine LG valve 5220FR2009S is a three way inlet valve assembly used in LG washers such as the WD1013NDE, WD1013NDW, WD1408NPW, WD1409NPE and WD1409NPW. It's the electrically controlled valve at the back of the washer where the inlet hose connects. When the machine needs water, the board opens the outlets that fill it through the detergent drawer.
LG washing machine not filling? Signs of a bad inlet valve
With three outlets, this valve lets the control board route water through different sections of the detergent drawer, so detergent and softener are flushed in at the right time. A valve with a burnt out coil stays shut, and the washer won't fill or shows a water inlet error. One that doesn't close fully can let water trickle into the drum when the machine is off, or cause overfilling. Slow filling often comes from a blocked mesh screen at the valve inlet, so check that and your tap first.

Fitting the inlet valve
Turn off the tap and unplug the washer, then undo the inlet hose and catch any water in a bucket. The valve is normally reached by removing the top panel. Photograph the wiring and the hose on each outlet before removing anything, as connecting them to the wrong outlet upsets how the drawer is flushed. Test fill on a short program and check for leaks.
Questions about this part
My washer fills very slowly. Is it the valve?
It can be, but first clean the mesh filter where the hose connects to the washer and check the tap is fully open. If filling is still slow, or doesn't happen at all, the valve is a likely cause.
