Part 5220FR1280G is a genuine LG single inlet valve, a 180 degree, 10mm type rated at 15 litres per minute. The same valve is referenced as 0136200083 for Simpson washing machines, and it's on file for the Simpson 36S and 22S top load ranges, including the 36S501E and 36S514E as well as the 22S701E and 22S713E. It controls the water flowing from the tap hose into the machine.
Washer not filling or won't stop filling?
An inlet valve is an electrically operated tap. When the control board sends power to its coil, the valve opens and lets water in, and when power is cut, it snaps shut. A coil that burns out leaves the machine unable to fill, so it sits there humming or shows a fill fault. A valve that sticks open, or has debris caught in its diaphragm, lets water trickle in even when the washer is off, and can overflow the tub. Blocked inlet screens cause slow filling too, so check those first.

Swapping the inlet valve
Turn off the taps and unplug the washer at the wall, then disconnect the fill hose at the back. Remove the top or rear panel to reach the valve, and photograph which wire goes to which terminal. Undo the mounting screws, ease the internal hose off the outlet and fit the new valve the same way. Reconnect the hose, open the taps and watch for drips while it fills.
