Replacing the valve
Unplug the machine and let it cool completely, as the internals hold hot water and steam. Empty the water tank and drip tray. Photograph the hose and wire connections before removing the old valve, and replace any clips or O-rings that look worn. After fitting, run water through before making coffee and check carefully for leaks. If you're not confident with mains wiring, use a qualified repairer.
