Dishwasher not draining? The pump may have failed
At the end of each wash and rinse, the drain pump pushes dirty water out of the sump and into the drain hose. Broken glass, fruit stickers, bones and seeds can slip past the filter and jam or crack the impeller, and the motor windings can also fail with age. Signs include water left in the base after a cycle, a humming or buzzing noise with no water moving, a drain error, or a program that stops partway. Before replacing the pump, clean the filter and check the drain hose isn't kinked or blocked.

Changing the drain pump
Switch off at the wall, close the water tap and soak up any water left in the sump. On most of these dishwashers the pump is reached from underneath once the machine is out of its cavity and tipped back, or through the base panel. Photograph the wiring and hose positions, release the pump and fit the new one with its seal seated properly. Run a short program and check for leaks underneath.
