Carbon filters are what let a rangehood clean the air when it recirculates back into the kitchen rather than ducting outside. Be aware that some Electrolux rangehoods take round carbon filters instead of this style, so check the product number (PNC) on the rating plate and the shape of your current filters before you order.
When to change rangehood carbon filters
In recirculating mode, air passes through the grease filters first and then through the carbon, which absorbs cooking smells before the air returns to the room. The carbon gradually becomes saturated. Once that happens, the rangehood still runs and sounds normal, but frying and fish odours linger in the house and the air from the outlet smells stale. Heavy use, lots of frying and long run times all shorten filter life, so many households change them on a regular schedule.

Changing the carbon filters
Switch the rangehood off at the wall or isolator and let the lights cool. Take out the grease filters to reach the carbon filters behind them, noting how they clip or twist into place. Fit both new filters the same way, refit the grease filters and run the fan to check nothing rattles. Write the change date somewhere handy so you know when they're due again.

My rangehood has round carbon filters. Will these fit?
Probably not. Electrolux uses round carbon filters on some rangehoods and other shapes on others. If yours are round, you need a different part. Read the PNC from the rating plate inside the hood and send it through the parts enquiry form if you'd like us to check.
