Where a 3/4 to 3/8 tube adapter fits in
Water filter systems and other drinking water lines often run in 3/8 inch tube, while taps, valves and some housings carry 3/4 inch threads. This adapter bridges the two, so the tube can be connected without a string of extra fittings. Replace an old adapter if its thread has been cross threaded, the body has cracked, or the tube end weeps no matter how carefully it is reseated. Connecting the adapter
Turn the water off at the isolating valve or mains first and open a tap to release pressure. Check the male thread you are connecting to is clean and undamaged, and use thread tape if the joint seals on the thread. Cut the tube square with a proper tube cutter, connect it fully as the fitting requires, then turn the water back on slowly and check for drips.
