LG dishwasher door falling open or feeling heavy
On each side of the tub, a spring and rope work with the hinge to take the weight of the door as it opens and closes. The connector is the small fitting that holds the rope in place within that set-up. If it cracks or pulls apart, the spring can no longer counter the door's weight. The door then drops open with a thud, feels much heavier on one side, or won't stay level when lowered. Leaving it unrepaired puts extra load on the hinge and on the other side, so it's worth fixing early.
