Tips for a leak-free connection
Shut off the water and open a tap on the line to drop the pressure. Wrap male threads with a few turns of thread seal tape in the direction they tighten, unless the joint has its own seal. Avoid overtightening plastic threads, as they crack easily. Cut the tube square, fit it fully into the tube end, then turn the water back on slowly and watch for leaks.
