Why a loose door seal clamp causes leaks

The door boot on a front loader is held in place by wire clamps that pull the rubber tight into its groove. If a clamp loosens, stretches or springs off, the seal lip can lift away, and water finds the gap during the wash or spin. Fitting the clamp

Unplug the machine and make sure the drum is empty. Seat the rubber fully in its groove all the way round before the clamp goes on. Work the clamp around the lip a section at a time, using a flat blade screwdriver to guide the wire into place without tearing the rubber. Check it sits evenly all the way round, then run a rinse and look for drips.
