The outdoor fan moves air across the coil so the system can shed heat in cooling mode or gather it in heating mode. One thing to know before ordering. If 4681A20122A isn't the motor your unit was built with, the LG adaptor cable EAD60714820 is needed to connect it.
LG outdoor fan not spinning?
In cooling mode the outdoor fan pushes heat away from the condenser coil, and in heating mode it helps the coil draw heat from the outside air. If the fan motor fails, the system may cool or heat poorly, shut down on a high pressure or temperature protection, or show an outdoor fan error code. You may notice the fan sitting still while the compressor runs, a fan that starts and stops, or grinding and rattling from worn bearings. DC fan motors are driven by the outdoor control board, so a board fault can look similar and is worth ruling out.

Fitting the outdoor fan motor
Turn the air conditioner off, then switch off the outdoor isolator and the circuit at the switchboard. Wait several minutes before opening the unit, as the inverter board can hold a charge. This is a job for a licensed electrician or qualified air conditioning technician. Remove the fan blade carefully, note how the wiring is routed, and fit adaptor cable EAD60714820 if your unit originally had a different motor.
