A dryer's drive belt links the motor to the drum. As the motor turns, the belt pulls the drum around so clothes lift and tumble through the warm air. Fitting the new dryer belt
Unplug the dryer and lay down a towel for screws and panels. Once the drum is exposed, wrap the new belt around it with the ribs toward the drum, route it past the tensioner exactly as the old belt ran and slip it over the motor pulley. Spin the drum by hand to check the belt stays centred and tight, clear out any lint you find, then refit the panels and test.
