LG dryer drum not turning? Check the drive belt
A poly V belt has a row of small ribs along its inside face that grip matching grooves on the motor pulley, and it carries the motor's drive through to turn the drum. Belts stretch, glaze and crack with age and heat, and eventually slip or break. Typical signs are a drum that won't turn while the motor hums along, a squealing or slapping noise on start-up, a drum that stops under a heavy load but turns when empty, or a burning rubber smell.

Changing the dryer belt
Unplug the dryer before opening it up. Access is usually through the front or top panel, and you'll need to support the drum while the old belt comes off. Fit the new belt the same way round as the old one, with the ribs sitting in the motor pulley grooves, and route it around any idler or tension pulley exactly as before. Turn the drum by hand a few times to check the belt tracks straight before closing up.
