Part 429640P is the genuine Fisher & Paykel drain pump assembly, built around an Askoll pump, and it replaces the older number 421820P. It's listed for a large group of Fisher & Paykel washers, including WA55T56 and WA70T60 models, the WA75T56 and WA80T65, WA85T60 and WA10T65 machines, the WA1068 and WA7060, and the MW513, MW613 and MW60.
Fisher & Paykel washer won't pump out
Once the wash or rinse finishes, the pump draws water from the bottom of the bowl and sends it out through the drain hose. If it fails, the machine stops with water left inside and may beep or display a drain fault. Lint, small socks and coins can block the pump inlet, while a worn motor may hum without moving any water or run noisily. Checking the drain hose for kinks and a blocked standpipe first can save buying a pump you don't need.

Fitting the pump
Unplug the machine, turn off the taps and bail or siphon out any water left in the bowl. Depending on the model, you may need to tilt the washer back or remove a panel to reach the pump, so get a helper for the lifting. Photograph the wires and hose clamps before disconnecting them, fit the new assembly and check for leaks on a short drain and spin.
