Switch off at the wall and unplug the washer before lifting the console or top deck. Photograph the connectors before unplugging them, and handle the new board by its edges to avoid static damage. Make sure any seals or covers that keep water off the board go back in place. Power up and step through a few programs to confirm every button and light works.
