A broken clip can leave the plate rack in the bottom basket flopping loose. This generic clip suits the crock insert in the lower rack of Bosch dishwashers and matches Bosch numbers 00428344, 00420199 and 00418499. It's on file for the SGS46M78AU and SGS53E02AU, the SGS65M08AU and SGI55M05AU, plus the SGU53E15AU, the SGU53E75AU and the SGU55E05AU. Part 428344 is an aftermarket replacement, not a Bosch-made part.
What the crock insert clip does in a Bosch lower rack
The crock insert is the row of tines in the lower basket that holds plates upright, and on many Bosch racks it folds down to make room for pots. Small plastic clips hold that insert in position on the basket frame. After years of hot washes the plastic turns brittle and cracks, and the insert then drops, wobbles or folds over as you load it. Plates can lean into the path of the spray arm, which shows up as dishes coming out dirty or an arm that knocks against something during the wash.

Fitting the clip to the rack
Pull the lower basket out so you can see where the insert meets the frame. Unclip what's left of the old part, noting which way it faces, then press the new clip onto the same wire until it sits firmly. Fold the insert up and down a few times to check it locks and moves freely. If the basket wire is badly rusted where the clip sits, it may not grip properly.
