F&P dryer won't start when you push the dial?
Inside the timer are a small motor and a set of contacts that switch the drum motor and heater, while the push action closes the circuit that starts the dryer. When the push switch wears out, pressing the dial does nothing, or the dryer only starts after several tries. A failing timer can also stall part way through, so the drum keeps turning long after it should have finished, or cut the heat early so clothes come out damp.

Fitting the push to start timer
Pull the plug out of the power point first. Undo the screws holding the control panel and ease it forward. With the wiring photographed or labelled, transfer each lead to the matching terminal on the new timer. Check that pushing the dial in starts the dryer and that it stops when the time runs out.
