Fisher & Paykel dryer not starting or running non-stop?
On these dryers the timer is the dial you turn to choose drying time. Once started, a small motor inside winds it back toward off, switching the heater and drum motor as it goes. When the timer fails, the dryer may not start at all, keep tumbling without ever finishing, stop heating before the set time is up, or have a dial that no longer counts down. A burnt contact inside the timer can also leave the heater on or off regardless of the setting.

Replacing the dryer timer
Unplug the dryer before removing the control panel. Pull the knob off and take a clear photo of the timer wiring, as terminal positions matter. Move each wire to the same terminal on the new timer one at a time, then refit the panel and knob. Run a short heated cycle to check the timer counts down and the dryer stops at the end.
