When a Fisher & Paykel dryer door needs replacing
A dryer door does more than close the drum. It seals the front so warm air moves through the clothes and out along the vent path instead of leaking into the laundry, and it presses the door switch that lets the dryer start. A cracked or warped door front, a broken catch area or a damaged frame can stop the door latching, leave the dryer refusing to start, or let lint and hot air escape around the opening. Knocks from laundry baskets and plain old age are the usual culprits.

Unplug the dryer before you start. Check where your door switch sits. If it's mounted under the hinge cover, you'll also need the door switch install kit, part 427919, to complete the job. Transfer any parts you're reusing from the old door, take photos as you go, and make sure the door closes firmly and the dryer starts before you load it.
