Broken outlet grille on a Fisher & Paykel dryer door
The grille is where the warm, damp air from the drum exits the dryer, and it also guards the opening so fingers and clothes can't get in. Being on the front of the door, it takes knocks from laundry baskets, and the clips that hold it can snap. A cracked or loose grille rattles, can let lint blow out into the room and may fall off altogether. Fitting the outlet grille
Unplug the dryer and let it cool. Check how the old grille is retained in the door, as it's held by a retainer spring, and remove it without bending the spring if you plan to reuse it. Clean any lint from behind the grille, then fit the new assembly and make sure it sits firmly with no gaps around the edge.
