SmartDrive washer showing faults or not spinning?
In a SmartDrive washer the motor control module is the main brain. It drives the direct drive motor, opens the water valves, runs the pump and reads the sensors. When it fails, the machine may stay dead, stop part way through a cycle, refuse to spin or agitate, beep with error codes, or fill and drain at the wrong times. Water getting into the module and power surges are common causes. Because a failed motor stator, rotor position sensor or wiring can produce the same symptoms, test them before replacing the module.

Swapping the motor control module
Disconnect the washer from power and turn off both taps before starting. Where the module sits depends on the model, so check the service layout first. Photograph every connector before unplugging, handle the new board by its edges, and make sure seals or covers that keep water off it are refitted. Run a full cycle afterwards to check filling, washing, draining and spinning.
