BSH 420775 is a complete oven light kit for Bosch, Siemens and Neff ovens. Inside the pack you get the lamp, the lamp holder, the glass cover and the 613634 removal tool used to unscrew the cover. It suits jobs where the holder is burnt or the glass is cracked, not just a blown globe. If you only need the tool and glass cover, BSH sells those together as 647309.

When the oven light needs more than a new globe

The oven light sits behind a heat resistant glass cover, usually at the back or side of the cavity. Heat cycles take a toll on every part of it. Globes blow, the holder can crack or its contacts can scorch, and the glass cover can seize in its thread or break when someone tries to free it. If a new globe doesn't fix the light, or the holder looks brown and burnt, replacing the whole assembly sorts out all of these in one go. The included tool grips the cover so it turns without breaking.

Fitting the oven light kit

Switch the oven off at the isolator or switchboard and let it cool fully. Built-in ovens are usually hard-wired, so if the holder's wiring needs to be disconnected, have a licensed electrician do the job. Use the supplied tool to unscrew the old glass cover, swap the holder and lamp, then refit the new cover firmly by hand before turning the power back on.
