The 420375P is a genuine Fisher & Paykel inlet hose assembly for top load washing machines. It carries water from the hot or cold tap to the inlet valve at the back of the washer. Hoses harden and crack with age, and a burst inlet hose can flood a laundry in minutes, so it's worth replacing one that's showing its age before it lets go.
Signs your washing machine inlet hose needs replacing
The inlet hose sits under mains pressure all day whenever the taps are left on, so it works harder than most people realise. Look for bulges or blisters along its length, cracks near the fittings, corrosion on the nuts, or drips where it meets the tap or the machine. A leak at the connection is sometimes just a worn washer, but a hose that's swollen or split must be replaced straight away. If the washer fills slowly, check the hose isn't kinked before you blame the inlet valve.

Fitting the new inlet hose
Turn both taps off and switch the washer off at the wall. Undo the old hose at the tap and at the machine, with a bucket ready for the water left inside. Check the sealing washers are in place, then screw the new hose on by hand and nip it up gently with a spanner. Turn the tap on slowly and check both ends for drips.
