Fisher & Paykel top loaders from the GW, IW and MW families use this genuine proportional inlet valve on the cold water supply. Part 420148P runs on a 24V coil and is also referenced as 33190041. Models on file include the GW509, GW609, GW709 and GW711, the IW509 through IW812 range, IWL10, IWM10 and IWC09, plus the MW059, MW511, MW611, MW711, LW095 and AW095.
Fisher & Paykel washer not filling, filling slowly or running cold?
The inlet valve sits where the cold hose connects to the machine. Rather than simply opening and closing, a proportional valve can vary the flow it lets through, which helps the controller blend hot and cold water to reach the wash temperature you selected. When the coil fails or the valve sticks, the machine may not fill, fill very slowly, show a water supply fault, or keep letting water in after it should have stopped. Blocked inlet screens give similar symptoms, so check the hose filters and tap pressure before replacing the valve.

Fitting the cold inlet valve
Turn off both taps, switch off at the wall and unplug the washer. Disconnect the inlet hoses and have a towel ready for the water left in them. Take a photo of the wiring and internal hose before removing anything, then swap the valve and check each connector clicks fully home. Reconnect the hoses with sound washers, open the taps slowly and look for drips before running a short fill test.
