The sump collects wash water so the pump can recirculate it through the spray arms and later send it down the drain. Electrolux doesn't list models with this assembly, and sumps vary a lot between ranges, so please confirm the number on your old part or send us your model details first.

Dishwasher sump problems and how they show up

Everything in a dishwasher flows through the sump. Water collects there, passes through the filters and is drawn into the wash pump before heading back up to the spray arms. A cracked sump or a failed seal around it often causes water on the floor or in the base tray, which can trip the flood protection. Other signs include poor washing from low water circulation, water that won't drain fully, and grinding or gurgling noises from the base of the machine.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part 4056027222

Water sump assembly

For Electrolux group dishwashers

Contents and model fit not stated, ask us to confirm

Replacing the water sump

Changing a sump is one of the bigger dishwasher repairs. Turn off the power at the wall and the water at the tap, then pull the dishwasher out and lay it on its back or side as your model allows. Photograph the hoses, pumps and wiring around the sump before removing them. Fit new seals where needed and check for leaks on a short program before reinstalling the machine.

Questions about this part

Does the sump assembly come with the pumps?

Electrolux describes 4056027222 as a water sump assembly and doesn't list pumps or filters as included.
