Outdoor unit not starting?
If the outdoor board fails, the indoor unit may still blow air but nothing happens outside. The compressor and fan stay off, the system blows room temperature air, and an error code or flashing light often appears on the indoor unit. Some boards show their own fault lights. Storm damage, power surges, insects nesting in the unit and failed components on the board are common causes. Communication faults between the indoor and outdoor units can give similar symptoms, so the wiring between the two should be checked first.
