It's the housed electronics that run the appliance, supplied as a complete assembly rather than a bare circuit board. Because control electronics are set up to suit particular models, it's important to confirm 4056015219 in the parts list for your exact model, or against the label on the old control box, before ordering.

Symptoms of a faulty appliance control box

The control box is the brain of the appliance, reading its sensors and switches and turning the motors, valves, heaters or compressor on and off as needed. When it fails, the appliance may be completely dead, start and stop at random, ignore button presses, show error codes, or run one function continuously. Power surges, moisture and heat are common causes. Because other faults can look similar, have a repairer rule out wiring, sensors and the power supply before ordering a control box.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part 4056015219

Electronic control box, supplied as an assembly

For Electrolux group appliances

Confirm the part number against your model before ordering

Fitting the control box

Isolate power at the wall or switchboard before opening the appliance, and wait a few minutes for any stored charge to drain. Hard-wired appliances need a licensed electrician. Photograph every connector, move them across one at a time, and handle the new assembly by its housing to avoid static damage.
