4055998696 Genuine HEPA Filter for Electrolux Group Vacuum Cleaners, Replacement Fine Dust Filter

Genuine Electrolux HEPA filter 4055998696 is a replacement fine dust filter, filed with our Electrolux vacuum cleaner parts. Electrolux's description simply reads 'filter, HEPA', so it doesn't name the vacuum range or model. Because HEPA filters come in many shapes, the surest check is the number or shape of the filter you're replacing. Send us your vacuum's model number if you'd like us to confirm before buying.

When to replace a vacuum HEPA filter

In a vacuum, the HEPA filter is the final stage of filtration, trapping fine dust, pollen and allergens before air leaves the machine. As it fills, airflow drops and the motor has to work harder. Signs it's time for a new filter include falling suction, a dusty or musty smell when the vacuum runs, fine dust settling after vacuuming, a strained motor note, or a filter that looks grey and clogged even after the dust container is emptied. Torn or warped filters should be replaced straight away.

Changing the HEPA filter

Switch the vacuum off and unplug it, or remove the battery if it's cordless. Open the filter cover, note which way the old filter faces, and lift it out over a bin. Wipe dust from the filter housing, then seat the new filter the same way round so it seals all the way around its edge. Only rinse a HEPA filter if your model's manual says it's washable.

Questions about this part

Is this HEPA filter washable?

Electrolux's description for 4055998696 doesn't say. Some Electrolux HEPA filters are washable and others aren't, so follow your vacuum's user manual. Washing a non-washable filter can ruin it, so if in doubt, replace it rather than rinse it.
