Why replace a rangehood light cover?

Because it sits right in the rising heat, it can yellow, go brittle, crack or warp, and the clips that hold it often snap when the cover is removed to change a globe. A missing or broken cover leaves the globe exposed to grease build-up and gives patchy light. Fitting a new cover restores the look of the hood and protects the lamp.

Fitting the lamp cover
Switch the rangehood off and let the light cool, as globes get hot. Remove the old cover or any broken pieces, and change the globe while you have access if it is near the end of its life. Line up the new cover with its clips or fixing points and press or twist it into place until it is secure.
