Because the knobs are universal rather than made for one model, they're a handy way to replace a full set on an older oven or cooker when the factory knobs are no longer available.
Replacing cracked or missing oven knobs
Cooker knobs live a hard life. Heat from the cooktop makes them brittle, cleaning sprays wear the markings away, and the insert that grips the shaft eventually splits so the knob spins without moving the control.
