Fitting a universal knob
Make sure every control is in the off position and the cooktop is cool. Pull the old knob straight off its shaft. Line the new knob up with the flat on the shaft and press it on firmly. Turn it through its full range to check it points to off correctly and doesn't bind against the panel.
