Dishwasher top rack sticking or falling off its runners
The upper basket rides on wheels that run inside the side rails of the tub. The wheels hold the rack level and let it roll out fully for loading. Over time the plastic wears, splits or loses its clip, and a wheel may drop off into the sump or filter. Signs include a top rack that sticks halfway, sits lower on one side, jumps out of the rail or grinds as you pull it out. A loose wheel in the filter area can also make noise during the wash.

Replacing the top basket wheels
Turn the dishwasher off at the wall and slide the upper basket out of its rails, releasing the end stops if your rails have them. Remove the worn wheels from the basket and clip the new ones on in the same positions. Check the rails for cracks or missing end stops while the basket is out, then refit it and roll it in and out a few times to confirm it runs level.
