This genuine 5 point harness kit, part 4055980728, carries five switches on one harness and is also listed as A01014008K, A01014008 and A01014006. It suits the Westinghouse WHG955SA and WHG955WA, the Chef CHG956SA and CHG956WA, and the SHG956SA.
Gas cooktop igniter clicking constantly or won't spark?
Each burner valve has a small ignition switch behind its knob. When you push and turn the knob, the switch closes and tells the spark module to fire the electrodes. All the switches connect back to the module through this harness. Spills, boil-overs and cleaning sprays can get into a switch and make it stick closed, so the cooktop keeps clicking after the burner has lit, or clicks when no knob is turned. A cracked switch or broken wire can do the opposite, leaving one burner, or every burner, with no spark.

Fitting the switch harness safely
Switch the cooktop off at the wall and turn off the gas supply before starting. The switches clip onto the valve spindles under the cooktop, so the top usually has to come off. Route the new harness the same way as the old one, away from burner heat. If any gas fitting or valve needs to be disturbed, the work must be done by a licensed gas fitter.

Do I need to replace all five switches?
This kit comes as a complete 5 point harness, so all the switches are replaced together. That is usually the better fix, because moisture that ruined one switch may have reached the others as well.
