Each knob grips the shaft of a burner valve or hotplate switch, so turning it moves the control behind the panel. Fitting the new knob set
Make sure every burner or hotplate is off and the cooktop has cooled. On a gas cooktop, close the gas isolation valve as well, and switch off the power if it has electric ignition or hotplates. Pull each old knob straight up, line up the flat inside the new knob with the flat on the shaft and press it on firmly. Check each knob turns smoothly and returns to off.
