Signs a rangehood LED has failed
The LED lights the cooktop below, and in many hoods it runs from a small transformer or driver rather than directly from mains power. A failed LED stays dark while the fan still works. A dying one may flicker, glow dimly, or switch on late. Heat and grease from cooking shorten LED life, especially in hoods where the filters are not cleaned often. When one light fails and the other still works, the LED is usually at fault. If none of them work, look at the light switch and driver first.

Replacing the LED light
Before touching the light, turn the rangehood off at the wall or isolating switch and wait for it to cool down. Take out the grease filters. Ease the old LED out of its housing, taking care not to pull on the lead, and unplug it. Plug in the new LED, seat it fully, refit the filters and switch the light on to test.
