Rangehood light not working? Replacing the E14 LED

The rangehood light shines straight down onto the cooktop, so it's the one you rely on when stirring or checking food. LEDs last a long time but they're not immune to heat and grease, and they can fail suddenly, flicker or dim to a faint glow. Before buying, rule out a faulty lamp holder or switch by trying a known good globe. If the other light on the rangehood still works and the globe looks scorched or dark at the base, the LED itself has failed.

Changing the LED globe

Switch the rangehood off and let the light cool before touching it. Remove the light cover or diffuser, unscrew the old globe and screw the new one in until it's snug, without forcing it. Refit the cover, restore power and check the light. Replace both lights at the same time if you want an even colour across the cooktop.
