Product details
This genuine Westinghouse oven timer carries part number 4055921771 and is linked to the older numbers ET601168 and ET601400. It is listed for the Westinghouse POH967S as well as the DSK963SNG and OA62X. When the timer on one of these ovens won't set, won't count down or keeps buzzing, 4055921771 is the part to match against your old one.
Oven timer faults and what they look like
An oven timer counts down cooking time and, depending on the oven, sounds an alarm or switches the oven off when time is up. On ovens with an automatic cooking function, the timer also has to be in the right mode before the oven will heat at all. That is why a failing timer can cause confusing faults, such as an oven that won't turn on even though the elements test fine, a timer that won't hold its setting, a buzzer that won't stop, or a dial or button that no longer responds.

Fitting the oven timer
Ovens are usually hard-wired, so isolate the circuit at the switchboard and use a licensed electrician to fit the timer. Photograph the wiring on the old timer before removing it, as every terminal position must be copied exactly. Once fitted, set the clock and test both manual cooking and the timed function before the panel goes back on.
Questions about this part
My oven won't heat but the light comes on. Could it be the timer?
It can be. On ovens with an auto cook timer, the oven often won't heat unless the timer is set to manual. Try resetting it first. If the timer won't return to manual mode, it may need replacing.
