Swapping a knob
Make sure the appliance is off and cool. Most knobs pull straight off the shaft, so grip close to the panel and pull firmly without twisting. Check the shaft for damage, then line the flat on the shaft up with the socket in the new knob and push it home. Turn it through each setting to confirm the pointer lines up with the markings.
