Oven losing heat? A worn door seal is often the reason
The seal runs around the front of the oven cavity and presses against the inside of the door when it closes, keeping the heat inside the oven. Over time the seal material hardens, flattens or tears, and heat escapes around the door. You might see the knobs and control panel getting hotter than usual, food taking longer to cook, steam or smoke drifting out of the door gap, or scorch marks above the door. A seal that has pulled loose at a corner or lost clips is also worth replacing before it gets caught in the door.

Fitting the new oven seal
Work on a cold oven with the power off at the isolator. Opening the door fully, or removing it, gives you more room. Pull the old seal out gently, noting where each of the five clips locates in the cavity front. Start the new seal at the top, press each clip firmly into its hole and work around so it sits evenly with no twists or gaps. Close the door and check it seals all the way around.
