The user interface board takes your button presses and shows the set temperatures and any alarms, then passes your settings to the fridge's main control. When it fails the display may go blank or show missing segments, buttons may stop responding, or settings won't save. In some fridges a faulty interface board can also leave the fridge stuck on one setting. Condensation getting into the control area is a common cause. Check the wiring plug between this board and the main board before replacing it.

Replacing the interface board
Turn the fridge off at the wall and unplug it. The board is usually behind a control panel cover inside the fridge or on the door, held by clips or screws. Take photos of the wiring plug and how the board sits in its housing. Fit the new board, make sure any seal or cover goes back properly to keep moisture out, then power up and check each button.
