Part 4055913885 is the genuine lamp holder for the Westinghouse WRF600CS and WRF900CS. It also suits the Chef CS601S and CS901S, along with the CS602S and CS902S. Rangehood light not working? Check the lamp holder

The lamp holder is the socket the globe sits in. It holds the globe in place and carries power to its contacts. Sitting right above the cooktop, it lives with constant heat, steam and grease, so over time the contacts can corrode, the plastic can turn brittle and crack, or a connection can work loose. Typical signs are a light that flickers, works only when the globe is wiggled, or stays dark with a known good globe fitted. Scorch marks around the socket mean it should be replaced straight away.

Swapping the lamp holder

Turn the rangehood off and switch it off at the wall, or isolate the circuit, before removing anything. Let the old globe cool before taking it out. Note how the wires connect to the old holder and match them on the new one. If your hood is hard-wired rather than plugged in, have a licensed electrician do the job.

Do I need to replace the globe as well?

Not always. If the old globe is blackened or its base is corroded, fit a fresh one with the new holder. Otherwise try the existing globe in the new holder first and only replace it if the light still won't work.
