Product details

Part 4055911228 is a genuine Electrolux water valve assembly, carrying the factory number 3015406010. On fridges with a plumbed water connection, this type of valve opens to feed the dispenser or ice maker and shuts the supply off tight when it isn't needed. As an assembly, it replaces the valve as one unit. No model list is on file, so match 3015406010 on your old valve before ordering 4055911228.

Fridge water dispenser or ice maker not working? The valve may be faulty

The water valve is an electrically operated tap, usually mounted at the back of the fridge. When the control board energises its solenoid coil, the valve opens and lets mains water through to the dispenser, the ice maker or both. Common faults include no water at the dispenser, an ice maker that doesn't fill, a slow trickle, or water pooling behind or under the fridge. A valve that won't close fully can overfill the ice tray and freeze it into a solid block. Low mains pressure or a blocked water filter can cause similar symptoms, so check those first.

Replacing the water valve

Unplug the fridge and turn off the tap feeding it, then pull the fridge out carefully. Have towels ready, as the lines will hold some water. Photograph the wiring and pipe layout, move each pipe to the matching outlet on the new valve, and push tube fittings fully home. Turn the water on and watch for drips for a few minutes, then restore power and run the dispenser to purge air.

Questions about this part

Should I change the water filter at the same time?

It isn't essential, but a blocked filter can cause slow or no flow that looks like a valve fault. If the filter is overdue, changing it at the same time is good practice. The valve itself is listed under factory number 3015406010.
