Gas burner clicking but not lighting
When you press the ignition, the spark generator sends a high voltage pulse along the lead to the spark plug at the burner. If the lead's insulation has cracked or melted, the spark can jump to the frame instead of the burner, so you hear clicking but get no flame, or the spark appears in the wrong spot. A loose or corroded connection can stop the spark altogether. Check the burner cap and spark plug are clean and dry, because grease and spills cause many ignition faults too.
