This solid cast iron burner is the genuine BeefEater replacement, part number 4055877908, also known by the BeefEater number 94701. It measures 40cm long and 7.5cm wide and suits BeefEater barbecues, except the Signature ProLine range, which takes a different burner. If one section of your barbecue has a weak, yellow or patchy flame, a corroded burner is the usual cause.
BeefEater BBQ burner flame uneven or yellow?
Each burner mixes gas with air and spreads the flame along its length under the grill or hotplate. Cast iron holds heat well, but years of fat, moisture and weather cause rust that blocks the burner ports and eventually eats through the walls. Common symptoms are a lazy yellow flame, cold spots on the plate, flames that roar from one spot or a burner that's hard to light. Spiders and insects nesting in the air inlet can cause similar trouble, so clean the inlet before deciding the burner is finished.

Fitting a new BBQ burner
Turn the gas off at the cylinder or isolate the supply and let the barbecue cool. Lift out the plates and vaporiser, then undo the burner clip or screw and slide the old burner back off its valve. Seat the new burner fully over the valve outlet so gas flows straight in. Any work on the gas line, regulator or valves should be done by a licensed gas fitter.
